Janet's Walk at Neerijse

It was a lovely early autumn afternoon for a walk, and so 7 women and a dog set out from the Church for the walk we had done earlier in the year when we saw lots of glorious spring flowers.  Today we saw their remains, and some autumnal cousins!

Here we are setting off

The traditional spot for a photo, at the top of the lovely green climb

There are now one or two pictures of flowers we passed along the way ... but don't fear, there are more of the walkers!

OK, not strictly a flower, but the start of the autumn colours

We peeped inside the tiny chapel towards the end of our walk, and found it was dedicated to the Patron Saint of Waffles and Crepes .....

Naomi had kindly brought along refreshments for the walk - we were all so tempted by the speculoos that I didn't tell her we were only a few minutes from the cars!  As you can see, Truffles has a sense of where he belongs!

And then to Cafe Rochus for Waffles and Crepes ...

And to be joined by Sheila's group and the welcome return of Paulette to walking with us after an extended absence!

Melly's walk at Château de la Hulpe

We were all pleasantly surprised at the weather – sunny, warm and really nice for walking. The glorious green of summer was already giving way to the brown of the advancing autumn, particularly the ferns which were starting to change colour and to shrink into themselves. Between patches of shade and brilliant sunshine, we once again enjoyed a couple of hours exploring the paths of the beautiful grounds of the Chateau de la Hulpe.
Thank you Melly for the walk and Ryoko for the photos

Naomi's walk in Hoeillart

Naomi had 18 walkers today for her beautiful walk through the forest.
We were all happy to meet the new walkers who have joined the group, and to catch up with our old friend Deborah who was visiting from her new home in Haarlem.  We also met a couple of animals we hadn’t seen before…..

After the walk Naomi invited us for delicious tea and cakes in her lovely home, where we met up with Sheila’s group, taking our total number to well over 20.  The cakes disappeared very quickly..... Thank you Naomi for a splendid afternoon!

Anne's walk in Tervuren Park

It was another fine walking day among the lush green vegetation in Tervuren Park. The geese were enjoying it too!

Sheila and Gabriella were already installed outside Mont Blanc when we arrived.  There was no more space on the terrace so the rest of us went inside.

Four more intrepid walkers arrived at Mont Blanc later on, after taking a "scenic" route, which apparently also involved a stop at the Spanish House!

Margaret's walk in Braine-l'Alleud

On what seemed set to be quite a wet and windy afternoon, only three of us made our way out to Braine. Just as well, really, as the car park had become a temporary fairground!
Despite the unpromising forecast, it turned out a fine, sunny afternoon and we enjoyed a lovely walk. Back at the cars, we met Sheila's group of four. Not often that the "main" group is outnumbered by the "easy" walkers!  Unfortunately, I didn't think to take any photos to record the fact.
Six of us then drove to the Alliance, all the drivers spotting the sharp left-hand turn into the car park, of which I had warned.  All, that is, except (ahem!) me - to the bemusement of the driver I was "leading". But after a short detour we all got together for a drink and a chat (sorry, no photos there either!).
