Paulette's walk at Jesus-Eik

We had a few adventures on the way to our walk in Jesus-Eik today: traffic jams on the Ring, a memory lapse which left one walker stranded in Tervuren, and the dramatic arrival of another walker in a splendid sports car in which she had hitched a lift with a friendly dog and its owner, after abandoning her own car.

Paulette handed us the map for the Flosendellewandeling, and we had a wonderful walk through the forest with the sun shining through the fresh green leaves. We even found another or our walkers half-way through the walk!

We met up with Paulette and Ingeborg on the terrace at Istas, where we all enjoyed our drinks and continued our conversations under the shady umbrellas.

Thanks to Lydia for the photos and Anne for the text.

Margaret's walk in Grez-Doiceau

It was a fine day for a walk.
The road wound uphill quite a long way...
but we kept smiling,
for we knew that at the end...

Paulette's walk in La Hulpe

Although Paulette could not walk with us, she nobly came along to set us on the right road, which we duly followed round the lake and past the splendid display of azaleas. Beyond the Ch√Ęteau we may have gone slightly off course, but still had a very pleasant walk, arriving as planned at "L'Homme Bleu" to join Sheila's group and Paulette for a drink and a chat.

Charity Walk and Lunch of 23rd April

The final amount we contributed for the Charity walk and Lunch was 860 euros. An excellent return on all our hard work!

Charlotte's new walk in Groenendaal

Thank you Charlotte for planning and leading a lovely new walk in the forest. We'd like to do it again.....
Even though there was no cafe nearby, we still had almost 20 walkers, which proves we do really go for the walks, and not just for the cafe stops afterwards!

Lydia's Walk in the Bois de la Cambre

Many thanks to Lydia, our walk leader today, for a lovely tour of the Bois.  And we were delighted to welcome Martha, visiting us briefly from her home in Alexandria - have a lovely holiday in Italy Martha!

The Bois was beautifully green today - but it's not every week we come across a beach volleyball court on our walk!

We ended up walking round the Abbaye de la Cambre, having first admired some 'interesting' statues en-route!

New walk in Overijse

We began our walk today in a beautiful orchard filled with apple blossom.

We had several "leaders" .....

..... but we decided we needed advice from local experts

This one wasn't giving away any information.

We knew we had to be on the correct WIC path when we saw the mud!

A message from Sandy

It is always fun to follow the traditions that the WIC walkers continue from year to year and with some nostalgia ... I might add.

April has been a busy month for you all. Congratulations on great participation in the Blue Bell walk as well as the Charity outing and luncheon event. Looks like great fun to me! Keep on walkin' ...
