Anne's New Year's Eve walk in Tervuren

It was a windy day, but mild and dry, for our walk around the lakes in Tervuren park, and we were all happy to be out in the fresh air.
Very many thanks to Heidi, who invited us all for refreshments at Mont Blanc after the walk.

Woluwe Park Walk

Everybody helped to lead today's walk, which may be why we walked for two and a half hours before reaching Kyung-sook's home!
Kyung-sook had prepared a splendid tea for us, with really delicious home-made cakes.  They disappeared so quickly that we didn't get any pictures!  Thank you Kyung-sook for your warm welcome and the much-appreciated refreshments.

Anne's Christmas Eve walk in Tervuren

Three walkers who were not busy shopping or cooking on Christmas Eve enjoyed a splendid sunny walk around the lakes in Tervuren park.  It felt just like spring!

Sue's walk in Tervuren

On the shortest day of the year, a very select group of five walkers enjoyed a splendid walk around the woods and lakes of Tervuren park.  The weather was mild and completely dry, and we met lots of birds, dogs and horses, but few people.  We took a look inside the old "Spanish House" beside the lake, which has now been nicely renovated. Thank you Sue for a wonderful afternoon!

Janet's Christmas City Walk

Having followed the same route for the past 3 years, we were due a change!  So we had a walk which took in lots of the Bande Dessinee in Brussels.

We started our walk in a somewhat unusual location, given that we are more used to fresh air and green spaces around us ...

We then followed a route which passed the following murals ...

Billy the Cat

Blake & Mortimer

Les Reves de Nic

Cori le Moussaillon

Lucky Luke

An unofficial mural in The Marolles

Odilon Verjus

and an improved version ...

Blondin et Cirage

Yoko Tsuno

Le Jeune Albert

Olivier Rameau

The route was based on the map of the location of murals here:  Today's route took us (in this order) past numbers 22, 3, 13, 20, 16, 1, 31, 14, 8, 29, 17, 35, 34, 21, 12 and 5 ... although if you were following it on your own there were plenty of others you could have detoured to see.

We didn't just see murals on our walk ... plenty of other things caught our eyes ...

... and of course we had to stop like all good tourists at the Mannekin Pis for a group photo!

Finally we met up with Sheila & Kyung-Sook at a creperie in Rue de Flandre where Deborah clearly made the best choice!

Paulette's walk in Overijse on 14th December

A good walking day in the Foret de Soignes for a our nice smiling friend Lydia who is leaving Belgium in a few days. Bye Lydia. Thank you for your friendship and help. You will be missed.

It is very rare to see a horse galloping in the forest during our walk

A little rain didn't affect the good humour of the group

There was already a Christmassy ambiance in the Country Club House nearby.

Lydia  saying her adieu to us
