Evelyn’s walk in the Foret de Soignes

A goodly number of us met up under the E411 for a lovely afternoon in the Foret de Soignes. It was rather a long walk - we were out for nearly 2 1/2 hours and we covered somewhere between 9 and 10km - but it was really lovely and we enjoyed the beautiful weather and scenery.

So, there are lots of snowy pictures from today's walk! Unfortunately I wasn't able to capture a picture of the herd of deer Helen & I saw running through the snow or the cute chipmunk (who surely should have been asleep?) who kept a bit of an eye on us.

If you look very very very losely at the picture on the left below, you might just spot a young deer ... it's a sort of "Walkers Where's Wally?" (hint: the fawn is not wearing a stripy jumper!)

It was a good walk for Daisy too, and she met lots of new doggy friends along the way!

Margaret took this lovely artistic photo ...

And finally ... a big thank you to Evelyn (pictured below) who led the more energetic walking group and gave us a lovely afternoon out in the snow and winter sun!

After the walk some of us repaired to Adeps for coffee ... just missing Sheila and her walkers who had left shortly before we arrived! They too had enjoyed their afternoon - but not been out quite so long as us! We were sorry that we missed meeting up with them.
