Monday 4 October 2010 - Pernette and Joyce's walk in Wezemaal

There are at least three steep climbs during this walk of 8.5km and the humidity seemed to make this more difficult than usual. As you can see from the above we walked through the vineyards on the side of the hill and were glad to see that the grapes had not yet been gathered.

This is a good walk as the scenery is so varied. You have the vineyards on the hillside and then when you arrive at the top there is a marvellous view out towards the village of Wezemaal. A little further on there are apple orchards and then you descend into woodland. It was a little muddy as we walked through the orchards but nothing we could not handle.
We all deserved our pancakes at the end of the walk and the Brasserie Darche certainly knows how to make them. We were delighted that Janet brought Allison along on the walk and we hope she enjoys the rest of her stay in Brussels.
