Monday 9 August 2010 - Janette's Woluwe Park walk

It was great weather for walking in Woluwe Park today and thanks to Janette we covered every square inch. There were loads of people enjoying the summer's afternoon, friendly cyclists (for once), kids playing tennis, walkers with their dogs as well as folk sitting around reading or just lazing in the sun.
The dog in the picture, by the way belongs, to the woman who was "persuaded" to take our group photo.
Janette came to the rescue of some teenage lads who were playing footie when this naughty setter (I think it is a setter, not really an expert on dogs) ran off with their ball. Janette just jumped in there and saved the day.
After we met up with Sheila and the "easy" walkers we headed off to have a coffee or a pancake or two as is the custom. Today we went to the Brasserie des Etangs where it was very pleasant sitting on the shady terrace. It has changed hands again and am glad to say the owners this time are a little more friendly - shame about the service and the cold coffee. But for a little while we did manage to forget that the traffic and roadworks were waiting for us on the Avenue de Tervuren.
