Janet's Walk from the Dreve du Comte

Autumn was definitely in the air this afternoon, but in a good way! A lovely warm afternoon for the walk with the sunshine filtering through the still green leaves above us.  Last year's autumnal leaves are still there, but will clearly soon be joined by this year's.

Surprisingly early, but the mushrooms are already appearing - as are the 'no picking' signs!

Here we all are on the site of the ex-playground!  I had intended a tasteful pose around the 'crashed' wooden plane ... but it's gone!

When I walked in the forest yesterday, Bernadette and I found our way barred and it was because the nice forest rangers were building bridges over a couple of big holes in the ground!  Here we are on one of the new bridges.  Evidence of damage by the extensive August rains was very evident along other parts of the route too, with newly fallen trees, more mud than we are used to on this route and new water channels on the path.

This walk is always longer than I remember and takes us about 1 hour 45/50.  So Sheila's walkers were at the tennis club and almost giving up on us by the time we arrived!

On the way back from the tennis club we saw these tiny wee little mushrooms! So cute!

This is today's route.  It says we did 7.77 km, but I didn't start my app until we'd been walking a little way - so we certainly did 8km.  This also includes my trip to the loo as I forgot to switch it off while we were at the cafe!
