It was another warm and dry autumn afternoon in Tervuren Park. We walked around all the lakes, then we decided to explore some new paths..... When we reached Mont Blanc for our refreshments, Sheila's group were already installed on the terrace, and we found enough chairs to squeeze in among them and enjoy the warm sunshine.

Isobel's walk in the forest at Auderghem
We haven't put any pictures on the blog for a while, but we have been walking every Monday and Friday!
Today Isobel led us on a beautiful late summer walk through the forest and we all enjoyed being in the fresh air on such a fine afternoon. It was even warm enough to sit outside on the terrace of the ADEPs cafe after our walk, where we joined Sheila's group and caught up on all our news.

Our walk in Villers-La-Ville
As there were only two of us in Villers,
Vyvyan and I decided to do a rekkie. The weather was most agreeable and the
landscape as enchanting as ever. We enjoyed discovering new trails, little
chapels and differentiating the many ancient trees on our way.
We also discovered a new friendly brasserie just
opposite the abbey ruins and decided to have a very nice Belgian lunch there on the terrace around 3pm.
All in all, a real nice place to (re)discover.
If you are interested, we could arrange a walk
followed by a visit of the ruins and a lunch this fall.

Joan's walk in Tervuren
When we arrived at Mont Blanc, Sheila and her group were already relaxing and enjoying their drinks.
Thank you Joan for the photographs and a nice walk.

Janet's Walk from the Dreve du Comte
Autumn was definitely in the air this afternoon, but in a good way! A lovely warm afternoon for the walk with the sunshine filtering through the still green leaves above us. Last year's autumnal leaves are still there, but will clearly soon be joined by this year's.
Surprisingly early, but the mushrooms are already appearing - as are the 'no picking' signs!
Here we all are on the site of the ex-playground! I had intended a tasteful pose around the 'crashed' wooden plane ... but it's gone!
When I walked in the forest yesterday, Bernadette and I found our way barred and it was because the nice forest rangers were building bridges over a couple of big holes in the ground! Here we are on one of the new bridges. Evidence of damage by the extensive August rains was very evident along other parts of the route too, with newly fallen trees, more mud than we are used to on this route and new water channels on the path.
This walk is always longer than I remember and takes us about 1 hour 45/50. So Sheila's walkers were at the tennis club and almost giving up on us by the time we arrived!
On the way back from the tennis club we saw these tiny wee little mushrooms! So cute!
This is today's route. It says we did 7.77 km, but I didn't start my app until we'd been walking a little way - so we certainly did 8km. This also includes my trip to the loo as I forgot to switch it off while we were at the cafe!

Anne's walk in Tervuren
It was another perfect day for a walk and we went around all the lakes and into the forest, but of course we had to stop for our traditional "WIC on the Rocks picture". Where did we go then? Mont Blanc of course, where the Easy Walkers were already installed at the best table on the terrace.
