Paulette's walk in Alsemberg
It was lovely to rediscover the bucolic sights of Alsemberg last Monday.
Here we are going down to the farm and the "Paper molen of Herisem"
't Pleintje at the end of the walk is still very welcoming
and has a lot to offer, n'est-ce-pas Charlotte!

Paulette's walk in La Hulpe
Although the weather forecast was very bad this Friday (rain, wind, grey skies) , 5 brave ladies were not deterred and decided that a walk would do them good. And they were so right! After a quarter of an hour, the sky became blue and the drizzle stopped completely. Gradually we had to take off some layers. And we took the opportunity to explore new paths and discover other views of the castle

Margaret's walk from Tervuren to Wezembeek (and back again!)
We were all delighted to have Jane walking with us today: her last day as a Belgian resident. We will really miss you Jane, and wish you much happiness in your new home in the Lake District. We hope you will come and visit us often - and we all much appreciated our final drink with you in the Mont Blanc at the end of the walk. Thank you.
It was a lovely afternoon for a walk, with a very spring-like atmosphere. Indeed parking at Tervuren was tricky as so many people had been lured out by the sun.
Sheila had 4 ladies walking with her today, and she was delighted to welcome a new member to her group.

We felt that this statue was just waiting for a group of walking ladies to have their photo taken with him! |
We took a small detour to a workshop where an artist turns trees into art and furniture - Vyvyan tried out one of his chairs! |
A cat - well, there are one or two cat-lovers amongst us! |
Thank you Jane for our farewell tea! We are going to miss you greatly (and not just because of your wonderful money-counting skills!) |

Gisela's Walk at Huldenberg
Many thanks to Gisela for leading us on a lovely walk today to and from Huldenberg. The weather was glorious, and we passed through some beautiful wooded areas and open farmland.
We ended our walk at the Café in Huldenberg, and were fascinated by the creativity of the knitters who had decided to decorate the tree in the centre of the square, and a few other smaller ones, with their handiwork ...
... and this statue is not headless, just well wrapped up against the winter weather - should it ever arrive!

Paulette's walk in Ittre
Another lovely walk in Ittre with our usual walkers and some easy walkers. We began as one group and finished by choosing different circuits. Everyone walked at her own rythm and all were happy at the end. It was nice to rediscover the countryside. Nature doesn't seem to know if it is winter or spring
Some snowdrops in the bush
a bucolic view
catkins
Gabriela admiring the scenery while others walk and talk
Did you know this kind of nest is a bunch of mistetoe?
Who can see the church of Haut Ittre?

Anne's walk in Tervuren Park
Despite the rainy weather forecast, the Lucky WIC Walkers had another warm and completely dry walk in the park today!
After our walk we were very pleased to find that the Mont Blanc ladies had returned from their 3 week holiday and we could enjoy their good coffee once again.
Today we had an extra special treat.... Ghislaine gave us wonderful chocolates to celebrate her birthday.
(Unfortunately they all disappeared before we could get a picture!)
Thanks Ghislaine and Happy Birthday!
