Melly's Walk at La Hulpe

Thank you Melly for a lovely walk out at La Hulpe, it was another lovely day and we enjoyed a strenuous walk through the forest and Chateau grounds.

A joyous group of ladies joined me on our traditional walk departing from Welriekende Dreef. The weather was just perfect. Not too warm, not too cold, no rain and the ideal spot for a great walk.

Yuko's walk in Rouge-Cloitre

Thank you Yuko for another lovely walk in the forest around Rouge-Cloitre.
It was a fine day and we walked fast enough to warm up quickly.
We were very pleased to meet up with the Easy Walkers near the Abbey, where we all stopped for a chat before continuing our walks in opposite directions.  We met up again later for our refreshments, but that's another story.....

 

A Familiar Face

Anne was delighted to be able to take advantage of her trip to Vienna to meet up with a much-missed ex-walker, Marie-Jo.

It is evident from the photo that they were keen to uphold our coffee and cakes tradition - and Vienna must be the ideal place to do this!

Janet's Walk from Dreve des Comtes

A slight chill began to set in today, but it was still lovely walking weather with the winter sunshine giving long shadows to the trees.

We were all sorry that today was Cathy's last official walk with us - but we hope she will come back frequently and walk with us as our guest.  

And welcome to Erika, a new walker!

The recent wet weather had left some muddy patches for us to negotiate, and some enterprising woodsman had laid a path of logs to help walkers through one patch ... but only two of our walkers were brave enough to risk it, others took the (not so) long way round!

With perfect timing we met up with Sheila, Elizabeth and Pernette in the car park, but only a small group of us set off in a car pool to Le Bois Gourmand patisserie, in Avenue du Bois de la Cambre, where we were to have coffee. Fortunately we had no trouble parking and we were made very welcome.  5 of us had lovely freshly cooked crepes, and one of us had something else.....

It was a  lovely fresh afternoon for a walk, indeed it was surprisingly warm given the time of year, and we made good progress following the blue markers through the forest.

And then a lovely surprise!  It's not often we bump into Sheila's walking group and it was a wonderful opportunity to have a group photo of both groups together.
