Janet's Christmas City Walk

Having followed the same route for the past 3 years, we were due a change!  So we had a walk which took in lots of the Bande Dessinee in Brussels.

We started our walk in a somewhat unusual location, given that we are more used to fresh air and green spaces around us ...

We then followed a route which passed the following murals ...

Billy the Cat

Blake & Mortimer

Les Reves de Nic

Cori le Moussaillon

Lucky Luke

Asterix

Isabelle

An unofficial mural in The Marolles

Odilon Verjus

and an improved version ...

Blondin et Cirage

Yoko Tsuno

KIII

Le Jeune Albert

Olivier Rameau

Tintin

Neron

The route was based on the map of the location of murals here:  http://www.art-mural.eu/html/bdbruxplan.html.  Today's route took us (in this order) past numbers 22, 3, 13, 20, 16, 1, 31, 14, 8, 29, 17, 35, 34, 21, 12 and 5 ... although if you were following it on your own there were plenty of others you could have detoured to see.

We didn't just see murals on our walk ... plenty of other things caught our eyes ...

... and of course we had to stop like all good tourists at the Mannekin Pis for a group photo!

Finally we met up with Sheila & Kyung-Sook at a creperie in Rue de Flandre where Deborah clearly made the best choice!

Janet ... Looks like a splendid walk and lots of fun for your pre-Christmas event this year. The dessert part looks especially appealing ... yea!
Happy (Merry) Christmas to you all.
