Janet & Sheila's Walks - Jardin Botanique Meise

Although the photo above makes it look rather gloomy, in fact 16 of us enjoyed a beautifully sunny afternoon walk in the National Botanical Garden of Belgium at Meise (for further information see http://www.br.fgov.be/PUBLIC/GENERAL/index.php). After starting off together, the group split into two before meeting up again to enjoy a special visit!

Can you spot Sheila's group in this photo?!

The main reason for choosing to walk at the Jardin Botanique today was to support three of our creative walkers who were participating in an Ikebana display.

We were all very impressed by the artistic flower arranging skills of Yuko, Anne and Ghislaine, and grateful for the tea, coffee and never-ending supply of cake and chocolate that they and their colleagues laid on for us. Many thanks!

For those of you who weren't there, a calendar of beautiful photographs of ikebana arrangements is for sale with proceeds going to the Japanese Red Cross to help those still affected by the tsunami. For further details, please contact Anne.

These are their ikebana works of art - can you tell which is whose? Answers Below!

Here are a few of the other (very many)beautiful pieces

And here are our ladies with their creations!
