After some starting problems Sheila led the short walk along by the river in Ittre. The sun shone gloriously as we walked by cows and horses grazing in the fields and we all had a bit of a giggle when we saw the scarecrow. Thank goodness there was some shade. In view of the heat perhaps it was just as well we only walked for an hour before heading back to Penny's lovely house and garden for a delicious strawberry tea.
We would all like to thank Penny and her husband for their generous hospitality on Friday. The tea was absoutely perfect and it was wonderful sitting in the cool shade of their garden eating Penny's delicious strawberry shortcake.
