It was our first morning start of the summer.    We managed to keep under the trees to escape the heat and found a shady spot at the Spanish House for drinks

Charity Walk and Lunch on 17th June 2019

Thank you Alyane for hosting our Charity Walk and Lunch in your beautiful garden.

Paulette's walk in Overijse on Friday 14th June

Today our walk through sunken lanes in Overijse was going up and down, crossing fields and little woods. Congratulations to everybody. It was pleasant although exhausting but we managed it very well.

Looking at these lovely photos, nobody would believe that half an hour later we were all drenched walking through a storm. Thank you Constanze for these photos.

Paulette's walk in Ohain/Lasne

Ohain/Lasne has always been a favourite because of its bucolic landscape and its varied country walks. This time, we climbed the cobbled street towards the old cemetery then went into the bois at the big watertower, crossed the Route de la  Marache and followed the Smohain stream on overgrown paths. Afterwards we crossed the beautifully manicured Waterloo Golf course before heading to Christa's house on another hilly cobbled street. The weather was perfect for this sporty walk full of little climbs. At the end of the way, after a last big effort, there was Christa who spoiled us with delicious niceties. What a day! Thank you Christa for the invitation.

Paulette's walk in the Bois de la Cambre on Monday 3rd June

Today was a very special day for the walkers. Martha H. and Christa W. , who were both visiting Brussels, joined us for a walk in the Bois de la Cambre and the Forêt de Soignes just like in the old days. We didn't have enough time with a two hours walk to exchange all our news. So we decided to extend the pleasure  and go to the Patinoire for a very nice cup of coffee. We also welcomed Mia, our activities leader, who will join us from time to time.

Martha and Christa, it was delightful to see you again and please  remember that you are always welcome in our group. Have a nice stay in Brussels!

Today was an unusual day because we saw animals we normally never see during our walks: a kind of deaf adder crossing a path and a heron in the middle of trees. We also welcomed a new member who took some of the photos below. Thank you to Germana and Constanze for your photographic contribution.
