Christmas Walk and Lunch 2018

Last Friday was the day of our annual Christmas Walk and Lunch. After a short walk in the neighbourhood of Ohain, we took position up for our iconic traditional photo in front of the Auberge. 

Then we entered our very warm and welcoming restaurant to eat all the goodies prepared for us. The table was set in a festive way in a cosy little room, the food was delicious as usual and the ambiance very joyful. 

Thank you to all of you for spoiling me.

The Forêt de Soignes is always beautiful even in winter. Today the temperature was very mild which is very unusual for the season and we were lucky to escape the rain until the end of the walk.

Liz's Walk in Tervuren - Friday 30th November 2018

Liz took us on a delightful walk round the forest.   It was welcome to a new walker Siobhan and we hope she will become a regular.

We did spot a rather unusual piece of a stained glass lurking among the trees.

Joan's Walk in Tervuren Park on 5th November 2018

Another beautiful day to be out in the forest.  We stopped off to look at the poppy war memorial.

The Charity Lunch

We were all disappointed that Paulette, who had done so much to organise this walk and lunch to raise money for the WIC Charities, could not be with us, and we send her our condolences for her loss and look forward to having her back with us on Friday.

Thank you to Liz for leading us on a lovely autumnal walk in Tervuren, we kept off the main paths in attempt to keep warmer amongst the trees!

And of course many many thanks to Alyane for making us so welcome and for hosting the lunch.  Everything was ready for us when we arrived, and all we had to do was pop our offerings down on the table and help ourselves.  It was lovely to see so many people, and we hope that we will have found a couple of new walkers as well!

Paulette is responsible for the money and will no doubt let us all know how much we have raised in total.
