Thanks for a lovely walk, Isobel.
We did walk in the forest first - honest!

Our Charity Walk and Lunch
Last Monday was the day of our annual Charity Walk and Lunch. The weather was perfect: blue sky and the temperature just right for an energetic walk in the lovely fields and sunken lanes of Sint Stevens Woluwe.
After the walk, Françoise invited us to sit down on her veranda where we could admire her beautiful garden full of hydrangeas. The lunch was delicious and very refreshing as always thanks to everybody's efforts to just bring the perfect dish.
Many thanks to all of you who were participating in the event and also to those who were not present but contributed nevertheless to the Charity. And of course a big thank you to Françoise who hosted our Charity Walk and Lunch for the second time consecutively.
The photo of the group didn't come out but at least, and more importantly, we have a nice photo of Francoise in her living room.

Ryoko meets Marie-Jo in Vienna in June 2014
Here is a photo of Marie-Jo and Ryoko in the Gloriette cafe at Schönbrunn.
She sends her best wishes to all of us. See you in October, Marie-Jo!

Paulette's walk in Lasne
Susan, Margaret and I had a lovely walk in Lasne, passing by the cemetery of Ohain, continuing on Chemin des Messes to Ransbeck where we revisited its very bucolic square whose charm reminded us a lot of the old beguinage of Lier or Brugge. Then we decided to take the long way back towards the Waterloo Golf Club where we saw a couple of ladies practising their skills under a sunny sky before taking the Vieux Chemin de Wavre to finish our circuit down towards the old church of Ohain and our cars.

Anne's Bank Holiday Walk in Tervuren
It was a hot and humid day, but the thunderstorm ended just in time, and we were almost the only people in the park when we began our walk.
After a completely dry two-hour walk, Margaret treated us to delicious cakes from a Tervuren baker. We enjoyed them on Anne's peaceful terrace, far away from the noisy fairground outside Mont Blanc. Thank you Margaret!

Paulette's walk from Overijse
As it turned out, Paulette couldn't actually join us on the walk but she did come to the starting point to give us a plan of the route. And no, we didn't get lost!
It was a perfect day for walking - not a cloud in the sky, but not oppressively hot. However, we were ready for a seat in the shade and something cool and refreshing when we got to the end. Simple enough you would think, but not on this particular day. The lowering of the awning on the terrace was a matter for negotiation and a surprising number of refreshments were "off". Ice cream sundaes, for instance. Oh well, maybe just a couple of scoops of ice cream? Yes! Or then again - No! Some basic soft drinks had also run out, but eventually we all found something to our liking and settled down to chat, and ponder the mystery of why the more you run a roller over a dressage arena the rougher the sand becomes...
