Paulette's walk in Woluwe on 29th November 2010

It was very cold when we began our walk from the Tram Museum.

So a really brisk pace kept us warm.

After passing by the Moulin de Lindekemael, the old water mill along the Boulevard de la Woluwe and the windmill at Hof Ter Musschen, we rejoined the old familiar railway track with pleasure.

We went back to the Brasserie des Etangs to have a pleasant get together with Sheila's group.

Saturday, 27 November 2010

On a grey day we met at the lake in Tervuren where we were joined by Marie-Jo. We kept up a good pace until we came to the muddy places.

Jane's walk in the Rouge-Cloitre on Monday 22nd November 2010

There were 26 of us for Jane's walk in the Rouge-Cloitre. Thank you, Jane, for leading us and for welcoming us in such a hospitable way afterwards.

The aftermath of the heavy rains was there for all to see, and we all seemed to have different tactics to get past the obstacles!

What a lovely spread! We were all delighted to enjoy refreshments and cakes at Jane's.

Paulette's walk in Jesus Eik on 15th November 2010

As usual the group was numerous for the walk in Jesus Eik. After the rain and gale these last 2 days, everybody was very happy to be outdoors. But what is happening? We seem to have 2 Marthas on the photograph?

How decisive this little group is!
Coucou!
And look at this : a hole in a cloud!
In front of the arboretum

Istas was waiting for us at the end of the walk but we were so busy discussing WIC issues that there was no time for another photograph.

Paulette's walk in Overijse on 12th November 2010

Four of us decided to brave the elements to walk in Overijse in spite of rain and wind.
That didn't prevent the Wicwalkers from having fun!

Admittedly, our walking sticks came in handy.

Just to make us really deserve our coffee, we had to negotiate some blown down trees at the end of the walk. The "Koffiehuis aan de Ijse" really spoiled us with avocado, fresh cream and chocolate with our lovely 'pannekoeken'. Mmmmmm.....

Paulette's walk in Neerijse on 8th November 2010

Our walk began at the church of Neerijse. We paused for a group photograph at the top of a long climb before going all the way down to the Neerijse reserve.

A second stop at the bridge before a narrow, overgrown path to the hide overlooking a lake. Time to take our binoculars out!

Back again to the main track (and the mud) before crossing the meadow towards a wooden boardwalk.

We had the visit of our very good friend and walker, Christa from Berlin.

And finally, rendez-vous at our favourite pancake and waffle place, the Cafe Rocchus in Huldenberg. Who would want to miss this part...

Bon appetit!

Anne's walk in Tervuren Park

It was cool and damp when we began our walk, but the autumn colours in the park were just wonderful!

Our traditional "WIC on the Rocks" - This picture is for Sandy!

At the end of our walk we visited a new art gallery in Tervuren, then went to one of our favourite cafes Mont Blanc, where the coffee is always hot and the service friendly and efficient.
The ice creams looked pretty good too.....
