Paulette's Neerijse Walk

We walked 7.2km in 1 hour and 45 minutes, using up 390 calories, so easily enough to compensate for a pancake or two!

Here you can see the group beginning to assemble by the church, then the line begins to spread out going up the first hill. Later those at the front wait for the tailenders to catch up.

We spent some time watching the deer in this field.

We crossed the bridge and went to the hide by the lake.

Sometimes it takes a while for us to sort ourselves out for a photo!

Some of the trees on our walk were changing colour, but these, on the outskirts of Neerijse, were the most spectacular.

Paulette's Neerijse walk

Sheila's group reached the "Cafe Rocchus" first and quickly ordered their pancakes.

The rest of us had to wait a little while for our delicious pancakes and waffles, but it was worth the wait.....

The WIC Walkers are becoming real experts on Belgian pancakes!

Joan's Tervuren walk

Thank you Joan for stepping in at short notice to lead today's walk in Tervuren in splendid autumn sunshine!

This was just one of many beautiful autumn trees that we passed as we walked through Tervuren Park.

The geese were enjoying the sunshine too!

Joan's Tervuren walk

We speeded up as we headed towards our refreshment stop at La "Vignette".

Happy walkers enjoying their drinks.....

.....and more happy walkers at the other end of the table!

Gisela's Bertembos walk

Today Gisela led us on a splendid brand new walk in the Bertembos area. The weather was fine and it was good to see the farmers working in the fields. We walked on many different surfaces, but thankfully the mud we had been warned about didn't happen!

After walking for almost 2 hours, we also had a brand new refreshment stop. Gisela had persuaded the restaurant "Coup de Foudre" in Bertem to open specially for us.
Most of our group of 22 tried their delicious freshly cooked pancakes, served with mounds of sugar or apples fried in butter.....yum!
We'd like to do this walk again, please Gisela!!

Paulette's La Hulpe walk

We began our walk today with a long flight of steps to warm us up!

There were about 20 of us at La Hulpe, including Halka who has quickly learned how to pose for the camera.

We also had some celebrity guests!

The threatened rain never came, and we even had some sunshine as we walked around the beautiful park, admiring the colours of the autumn foliage.

Paulette's La Hulpe walk

We were all able to sit around a big table at the cafe "L'Homme Bleu".

Several of us had delicious mint tea made with real fresh mint.

Paulette, you earned those pancakes! Thank you for leading such a splendid walk for us!

Paulette's Welriekende dreef Walk

Here is the map of Paulette's walk, we started at the car park which you can see about half way up the right hand side of the picture and went clockwise around the track. The map shows the route straight back to the car park, it doesn't include the diversion taken to the cafe .

We walked 6.71 km, it took us 1 hour and 40 minutes and we used 489 calories.

You would never have believed we'd had such wet weather, it was sunny and warm and the paths were dry. Most of the trees were green but there are signs of the colours turning and some leaves are falling, so we could see that Autumn is on it's way.
