Fri., Mar. 31st - Only 5 of us braved the Belgian spring weather to participate in Sandy's walk today in the Bois de la Cambre but we enjoyed the outing inspite of the occasional drizzle and wind!

Fri., Mar. 31st - We were able to try the newly renovated cafe next to the Theatre du Poche after our walk to enjoy its new decor.

Mon., Mar. 27th - Sheila's walk in Rhode St. Genese and a short pause to enjoy the warmth of the sunshine! Thanks to Jennifer for this photo.

Mon., Mar. 27th - Sheila's walk in Rhode St. Genese. We had every kind of Belgian weather today but very much warmer than any we've had since last fall with a high about 18C! It was also very breezy. Sheila gave us a good work out and Heide was kind enough to provide coffee and tea for us at her home en-route back to town. Many thanks. Here's hoping that Jennifer's photos turn out to supplement this!

Fri., Mar. 24th - 6 of us came out for this walk that Sandy conducted in Auderghem. The morning started rainy and cold but it moderated during the day. You just never know in Belgium! We're still waiting for signs of spring and this weekend we set our clocks ahead an hour!

Fri., Mar. 24th - We got through the walk with not too much drizzle ... later, of course, the sun came out and the temperature reached 16C!

Fri., Mar. 24th - It was great to take our refreshments afterwards at Au Repos des Chasseurs. It has been awhile since our last visit.

Mon., Mar., 20th - off to a quick pace on Sheila's walk in Plancenoit. It was breezy but about 5C so it was somewhat of an improvement. We're still looking for signs of spring!

Mon., Mar., 20th - We got a brisk workout but lovely scenery on our venture around Plancenoit! Note La Butte de Lion way in the background???

Mon., Mar. 20th - 5 of us were able to stay for refreshments at Le Bivouac de l'Empereur near La Butte de Lion, Waterloo which was welcome after our workout today.

Fri., Mar. 17th - It was a bit cold to pause for the photo but thanks for obliging! Sheila was nice enough to step in to lead the Friday walkers around the Chateau de la Hulpe!

Fri., Mar. 17th - St. Patty's Day! Note the green beer for Sandy and Kathleen. It was great to warm up at the cafe after our outing!

Fri., Mar. 17th - Our "Thanks" to Sheila for the return to La Hulpe and a very nice walk on a cold afternoon around the ground of the Chateau. It was fun to be back!

Mon., Mar. 13th - Sheila's walk from Rhode St. Genese Station. With sun, glorious sun, we could stand the +3C temperature and it was a wonderful walk about town. Thank's Sheila!

Mon., Mar. 13th - A pause for refreshments was welcome at a small cafe across from the church.

Fri., Mar. 10th - Our thanks to Denise (left) for a very nice walk in the forest. Refreshments were taken at the ADEPS cafeteria which worked out quite well!

Fri., Mar. 10th - Denise's walk in Auderghem. Marie-Jo tries out her new Nordic walking sticks and the rest of us try to keep up! We got through a rainy afternoon without too much difficulty and survived quite well.

Mon., Mar. 6th - Sheila's walk from the Abbeye Aywiers in Lasne provided a full range of Belgian weather for us in our 2 hour walk including, wind, rain, sun. snow and hail. There was, of course, a plentiful amount of mud to accompany us, too. All 11 of us had a hardy work out today.

Fri., Mar. 3rd - Sandy's walk in the Bois de la Cambre with snow flakes falling! The sunshine followed which warmed up to 3C.

Fri., Mar. 3rd - Refreshments followed at Les Filles de Papa with teas and desserts.

Fri., Feb. 3rd - It's a bit past Mardi Gras but you'd never know!

Mon., Feb. 27th - RAIN, SNOW & ART DECO! Our thanks to Kathleen, who had done lots of research on the route and gave us a really good afternoon. Despite the weather we all enjoyed the walk through the streets of Schaerbeek. It takes more than the odd snowstorm to put off a WIC Walker.

We started with a tour of the Schaerbeek Town Hall (seen here) and then we did a circular walk through the surrounding avenues and parks. There are many Art Deco houses recently renovated or in the process of being. There was a lot to look at and it was fun spotting the details on the houses Kathleen had marked out.

Mon., Feb. 13th - Genval walk around the lake and beyond. Many thanks to Dolphine (right) for leading us on a cold and grey day. We did find "L'Art Gourmand" - tea room ... in La Hulpe thanks to Christa - where we had our refreshments. A fun outing for all!
